About Us
The North York Obedience Club was founded in 1961, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, as a community service. Its mission is to educate and stimulate interest in dog obedience training. As one of the oldest clubs of its kind in the Toronto area, it has, through its training program, provided the community with literally hundreds of good canine citizens.
We are a volunteer, not-for-profit organization. Any money raised by the club is used for operational expenses. Also, the club makes donations to organizations such as The Ontario Veterinary College and various animal welfare associations.
We conduct three training sessions and four licensed obedience trials per year, and many of our members participate in a Demonstration Team that performs at hospitals, retirement homes, children's facilities and for various children's groups like Girl Guides and Boy Scouts.
